LA is a trip, I’m discovering. You never know what you’re
gonna see.
We took a side trip the other night to get a thingy for my
laptop. Anthony was excited about revisiting Fry’s, a version of Best Buy, so
he could poke around and push buttons and fantasize about electronics.
He was like a kid in a candy store. And it is, also, a candy
store. To get to one of the 47 registers up front (that’s not a joke), you have
to stand in a really long aisle of candy and gum. I think the idea is, if you’re
there for hours, you won’t starve. You can eat nerds.
But I thought it was weird when I saw this:
Then, at the back of the store was this:
There also was a U.F.O. on the ceiling, smothering the lights
over entire aisles of cell phone thingys. It made it really hard to see what
was back there.
I got a few shots off before the nice guy who worked there
said security would escort me out if they saw me doing that.
It turns out every store has a theme! This one, in Burbank, is themed 1950s
sci-fi.
Ohhhhhhhhh.
Also in LA, there are Fry’s decorated like ancient Rome, Atlantis,Tahiti
and – best of all – Alice in Wonderland.
Talk about trippy.
The only thing more surreal than living in LA would be
falling into the rabbit hole. In LA.

I have not been to Fry's yet, but if my husband goes, I know for sure he'll be gone for HOURS. He friggin loves that place. I'm not big on "those types" of stores. Of course LA has a "themed" one! Of course!!
