We braved another Dodgers game, and this was one was a lot more fun. The fans didn’t eat each other alive.
Instead, like Manny Ramirez, they tried to eat the Phillies.
It was last night's Game 3 of the NLCS.
Take a look at a group of Phillies fans getting jeered out of a nearby section. Dodger fans had just arrived (3rd inning. For Dodgers, that’s right on time.) and claimed the out-of-towners were squatting.
Meanwhile, on the field, the dugouts and bullpens were emptying for a near-brawl (the high-quality version is a little better):
Manny has been so even-tempered lately but looked like he was going to send somebody to hell, after LA pitcher Hiroki Kuroda nearly hit Shane Victorino with a pitch, and Victorino got mouthy about it.
Manny was still pissed that he nearly got beaned with a pitch in Friday’s Game 2 in Philadelphia.
And in Dodger Stadium, when Manny gets mad -- everybody gets mad. He's like the adopted son they never knew they couldn't live without.
All over the stadium, Phillies fans were getting reamed.
This was the chorus we heard everywhere we went. I saw pairs of Phillies fans, waiting in line to pee, standing silent as Dodgers fans screamed at them en masse: “Phillies Suck!”
The next video shows just how remarkable this game was. The Dodgers scored 5 runs in the first inning. That is impressive, but that's not what I'm talking about. Check out how many fans are already in their seats – in the first inning.
You can tell these are the playoffs.
Announced attendance of this game, by the way, was 56,800 – the largest in the history of Dodger Stadium.
And here's a wish for tonight. Game 4, Los Angeles:

Love the classic Anthony Woo-hoo! Looks like ya'll had a great time at a great game.

Excellent! I'm so jealous. I love what you said about Manny. It's amazing how thoroughly he's been embraced. I guess it helps that he's hitting like .400 since going to LA.
Go GW High! Are you going to Game 4?

The energy when Manny is up to bat is crazed. Not to mention how popular those Dodger hats with Manny deadlocks are. They loooooooove him.
I wish we had tickets tonight -- I thought buying them for one championship series game was enough of a gamble... (btw, thanks to MHS for advising me on ticket strategy!!) :)
